Has COVID-19 been good for the environment?

by Katie Harston

The answer is yes and no as Katie finds out in her interview with Carmen Valdez, Grassroots Organizer for HEAL Utah.

"I think it's better and worse for the environment, depending on what we're doing now, and how we're going to move forward with this pandemic," Carmen says.

"If we go back to the same thing, and with all the EPA regulations going through or being removed, we're looking at a worse world, honestly. But if we encourage more solar panels to make up for all of the increased electricity usage that we're using while we're working from home, maybe that could make a difference. So it's kind of a wait-and-see moment right now. Hopefully we can reform what we're doing so that we can move forward in a positive way for the environment."
